Description
Page 170 (4th perek). The 248 mitzvos correspond to the limbs of the King. The mitzvos are the vehicles through which the or ain sof (infinite light) comes into the world. True dveykus (attachment) comes through doing the mitzvah properly. The soul of the mitzvah is the emotion poured into it, while the body is the mitzvah action itself. The ikar (main) expression of love is to run to do you beloved's will. Yiras ha onesh (fear of punishment) is not yiras Hashem (fear of Hashem), but rather a self-focused fear. Ahavas Hashem (love of Hashem) is a feeling that is enclothed in having the gevurah (restraint) to not violate a negative mitzvah.
