Description

From Rav Moshe Wolfson's sefer Likutei Oros, a review of some of the major themes in the 3rd chapter of the Tanya. The tachlis of the Chabad path is to reach ahava (love) and fear (yira) through the intellectual powers. The Sfas Emes likens Yosef's difference with his brothers to the Ba'al HaTanya's difference with the other students of the Mezritcher Maggid. The Polishe Chassiduses emphasized connecting to the tzaddik who will then lift up the chassid to high levels. The main connection to the tzaddik is through following his advice and directives. The precise way that Hashem brings together a male-female shidduch (match) is the same way that Hashem brings together a Rebbe and talmid (student). A talmid chacham (Torah scholar) without daas has no idea what he knows.
