P. 157. Continuing the 3rd perek. Daas is when something matters. Feeling Elokus (G-dliness) requires sustained work with daas. We don't have to put work into activities like eating at Kiddush, but we do have to work at davening. There is no daas in the klipos (husks) and the nefesh habehamis (the animal soul). In ChaGaT (emotion-centered) Chassidus, the tzaddik functions as daas for the chassid. In ChaBaD, the Rambam became a Chassidishe Rebbe.
