Description

P. 156. Continuing the 3rd perek. A true, strong emotion can only come when something is real in your life. There can be no awakening of ahava (love) and yira (fear) without daas (knowing). If we are not connected to something in Torah, it will have no bearing on our lives. The davening of a sick person is greater than that of a well person. Rachel's pain in not having children should have also been Yaakov's pain. Daas means to connect yourself to an idea until it becomes truly relevant and real to you. The root of ahava is love of one's self. Daas is hiskashrus, which is becoming one.
