Description

P. 151. Continuing the 3rd perek. In the nefesh elokis (G-dly soul), the element of water is chochma (wisdom). In the nefesh behamis (animal soul), the element of water is taiva (lust). All other middos (character traits) are extensions of ahava (love) and yira (fear). Daas (knowledge) means a binding and deep connection, when the mind becomes completely consumed with the concept. Daas is the mental power that is hardest to access today. If the mind is not embedded in the greatness of Hashem, true yira and ahava will not be reached . If you don't bring an idea down to daas, it can be easy to get lost in the illusions of emotion.
