Description

P. 147. Continuing the 3rd perek. Through having yira (awe) in the mind, then pachad (fear) can go into the emotions. The feeling of pachad leads to the feeling of ahavas (love of) Hashem. The body and the nefesh behamis (animal soul) pull a person away from yira. The awe of Hashem's greatness is higher than all the levels of ahava, because ahava is still about the self. The words the Baal HaTanya uses to describe ahavas Hashem are taken from different expression of ahava in Tanach. The three verses of thirsting and longing connect to the three types of hisbonenus.
