Description

P. 145. Continuing the 3rd perek. The ohr (light) of Hashem is a revelation of Hashem, not Hashem himself. The two lights of filling and surrounding are rays of Hashem's existence. The surrounding light is out of reach, but it is still 'here'. The third hisbonenus (contemplation) is that Hashem's essence is completely beyond conception. Yiras haromemus (fear of Hashem's greatness) can be tasted through being in the presence of a tzaddik. Busha (embarrassment) is the experience of realizing how small we are in the presence of Hashem. In this chapter, the Ba'al HaTanya is purposefully only elucidating the kochos hanefesh (powers of the soul), and not practical avodah (service of Hashem).
