p. 130. The three "highest" middos (traits) and the seven "lower" middos. Each Jew is focused on a different aspect of their soul. Who are we? Nefesh (soul) Jews "live in this world". Ruach (spirit) Jews are centered in their heart. Neshama (upper soul) Jews are centered in higher spiritual matters. The seven days of the week are aligned with the seven sefiros (spiritual emanations). Using our sechel (mind) brings something into our "self". Middos bring something that is inside of us to outside of our "self".
