Tachlis (purpose) of chassidus is to infuse vitality into our avodah by revealing the nefesh elokus (hidden spark of infinity inside of us) which depends on cleaving to Talmidei Chochamim (Torah Scholars). At End of Days Hashem will say to us that He loved Yaakov and hated Esav. Hashem does not look at a Jew who works only to develop their own ego. Our connection to Hashem is by way of the Torah Scholars of the generation.
