Description

p. 6. The entire "Sefer Beinunim (Book for Intermediates)" is based on the Pasuk "Ki kavov eilechah hadavar me'od" (for this thing is very close to you), and its purpose is to explain how this works. Controlling ones thoughts and emotions rather than merely our actions and speech. The ability to transform our hearts. Every Jew can serve Hashem WITH his heart. The purpose of our existence in this world is to actively fulfill mizvos (commandments) - "la'asos" - to DO G-d's will. If it's not "ka'asher tzviah" (as Hashem commanded) and thus according to Halachah (Jewish law), then it's wrong. Following the "long and short" path. An example of the short way - an iPod filled with G-d. Temporary hisorerus (spiritual awakening) - a moment that quickly fizzles out. The short way does not change the essence of a person.
