Baal Shem Tov brought down a great light that allowed simple Jews to connect with Hashem by merely looking at the Tzaddik. Kaliver Rebbe of Williamsburg is a living example of the way of the Baal Shem Tov. Rebbe Eliemelech says that Tzaddikim do not feel pure in their avodas (service of) Hashem. Tzaddikim help their fellow Jews when they look to the Tzaddik for help even though they feel unworthy.
