Before the time of the Ba'al Shem Tov, the way of the world was to disregard physical and mundane matters. The job of our generation is to repair the world through the elevation of the body and physicality. The kaylim (vessels) generate light of the divine presence. Torah, Yisrael (Jewish people), and Hashem are one. Everything in this world is a result of cause and effect. Hashem is the cause of all causes!
