Description
Through their Torahs (teachings), tzadikim (righteous people) bring G-d into the world. Chassidus catches the warmth of Yiddishkeit (Judaism). The essential argument between Chassidim and misnagdim (the opponents), was over the meaning of the pasuk “meloh chol ha’aretz kevodo” (G-d’s glory fills the world). Until the Ba’al Shem Tov the goal was to crush the body; the Ba’al Shem Tov taught us to uplift our body. Until the Ba’al Shem Tov, only the tzadikim were able to connect to higher worlds. The Ba’al Shem Tov taught us to latch onto the spirituality of the tzadik (righteous person). Chassidus teaches an optimistic view of going out to work.
