Description

Secular knowledge transfers ideas only and does not connect the teacher and the student. There is an influence on a talmid's (student's) neshama (soul) when learning holy words of a tzadik (righteous person). Learning Torah is a religious act- not merely an intellectual exercise. World is renewed through chidushei Torah (novel Torah thoughts). To raise someone else's child is a great mitzvah but adopting children is not a Jewish concept. When we study mitzvahs that we cannot perform today we incorporate them into our inner being since our soul is tied to the higher worlds.
