Description

We should not act without looking at our impulses. A wounded nefesh (soul) is like an exposed nerve. A sudden feeling of sadness could be from a past transgression. When having an arousal of joy, go into the feeling deeply. Reading Tehillim (Psalms) slowly is a great way to channel emotion. When King David wrote Tehillim, he had every Jew in mind. When davening (praying) for ourselves, we should also daven for all Jews in similar situations. Drinking in holy company at holy times can open the heart and awaken the emotions.
