Description

The Egyptians forgot who the Jewish People were, and so did we. Self-dignity comes from protesting while being oppressed. In Egypt, Moshe was able to secure Shabbos as a day off from work. While in pain, sometimes memories of good past times embitter the pain. When the ruach (spirit) in us is broken, we can lose our humanity. In this generation, material excess is breaking the Jewish spirit. Learning Torah can awaken the desire to be in Eretz Yisroel.
