A yahrtzeit Torah from the Kedushas Levi on Bereishis: attaching ourselves to good middos (qualities) gives nachas ruach (pleasure) to the Ribono shel Olam (Master of the Universe). Our main obligation is to serve Hashem from even the lowest places. Hashem’s nachas translates into shefa tova (heavenly bestowal) for the whole world. From the Hachsharas Avreichim: Under the pretense of criticism, we may be vicariously indulging our taivos. People who shout “Shabbos!” and throw rocks are mekubalim (the lowest of the low). Satan’s has many justifications for TV. Beware that TV destroys children and the parents will be held accountable. Destructive thoughts can be very subtle. Scream out in anger against destructive thoughts. We can’t control our thoughts unless we make a cheshbon (accounting) of what our thoughts are.
