Our own spiritual growth affects the spiritual growth of the those who are close to us. Every Jew, regardless of their level in learning can bring out a tremendous revelation of Hashem. Every person needs chizuk (encouragement) in their life. With the proper chizuk and motivation, we can reach tremendous heights. Superficial growth is without holiness and can be harmful. In our generation we have to work on the avodah of davening with holiness and concentration. Chesed projects and learning programs are very important but the essence of a shul and of an individual should be on avodah (coming closer to Hashem) and tefillah.
