Description

When our Sages used their intellect to learn a derash (exposition) from the Torah, they were automatically connecting back to Hashem's voice resounding within their soul. Instead of learning for ourselves, we must learn in order to connect to Hashem. If we learn Torah for our ego, we will fail to change ourselves with that Torah. Learning kabbalah with our ego leads to idolatry. Holy Jews read, rather than learn, Zohar on Friday night.
