Description

In this lecture series we will explore the fascinating story behind the writing of the most important book in all of Halakah. What compelled Rav Yosef Karo to write his code, and why did his work garner so much debate and resistance? We will examine how Jewish communities around the world, from the Ashkenazim of Poland, to the Bukharian Jews of Uzbekistan, and the North African Jews of the Mahgreb, responded to Karo’s revolutionary work. In this first shiur, we focus on the three pillars of the Beit Yosef
