Description

From Beis Yaakov (Va-Yishlach, 13) of Izhbitz. There are two types of holy matter in the world. The first is our regardless of what we do, “kedushas ha-Avos” ("holiness of the forefathers") The second is what I gain through hard work and help from Above, “kedushas kono l’atzmo” ("holiness acquired by oneself"). The two camps of Yaakov were these two camps. One camp would not be harmed, due to “kedushas ha-Avos,” in this case Rachel and Leah. However, the other camp was the worry, the camp of the maidservants. Their world is not guaranteed. The holiness requires hard work and continuation of Mitzvos. The prayers of the world are split into these two camps.
