In this shiur for the third Perek of Masechet Makot, we will study the three-way controversy regarding Malkos for Chayvei Kares & Chaivei Misas Beis Din. The sugya indicates that logic would dictate one punishment per crime, but Rebby Yishmael insists that for the most severe violations these will be two punishments, malkos and misah. How will this opinion be justified? We will see a number of insights of both Rishonim & Achronim to this profound Sugya.
