Description

Pages 44-45. A person only becomes aware of thier narrow and small perspective ("mochin d'katnus") when they attempts to think more broadly ("mochin d'gadlus"). The former is associated with exile and the latter with redemption. Exile cares about the preservation of individuals and communities, while redemptions cares for the Nation as a whole. The difference between the two is infinite. Exile was a change in the way Jews experienced God and Torah. It forced us to grow up, while beating us down. However, because of this, we will emerge stronger, more mature, and better suited for the coming redemption.
