We begin our study of the Pachad Yitzchok on Chanuka with the following q's: One, why did the Gemorah raise the issue of Birchat HaMitzva on a Mitzva Midivrei Sofrim with regard to Ner Chanuka? There were other Divrei Sofrim, like Megilla, which were established prior to Chanuka. Two, Why did Chazal in Al HaNissim emphasize "LeHashkichem Torascha", isn't this included in "LeHa'aviram al Chukei Retzonecha"? Three, Why did the Yevanim compel the Jews to declare "Ein Lachem Chelek B'Elokei Yisrael"? Four, Why is the confrontation between Yavan & Yisrael so dangerous? Are both cultures dedicated to the study of the Will of God? Five, Why is Yavan identified with darkness, yet the Holy Writ is translated into ancient Greek?
