Which do we choose? -- Is it only assur to lie in formal cases, such as perjury? -- Or is it like fraud, in which it hurts someone, and that's when it is assur? -- The Bet Shammai and Bet Hillel argument what one may say to the bride comes down to - values clash, or perhaps whether there is no issur of lying at all. -- Nafka mina: Can we choose whether to lie or not - muttar or mitzvah? -- Nafka mina: Can we blatantly lie or should we seek a white lie instead?
