Lecture given during dinner in Paris, France. The Ba'alei Tosafot of Paris contributed more to society, than all the artists and musicians living there. Rabbi Schachter discusses: (1) Rabeinu Yechiel MiParis, a student of Rabeinu Yehuda MiSirlion. What was the real name of Rabeinu Tam? He was involved in the Disputation of Paris against Nicholas Donin, which led to the burning of the talmud in 1244. He held one should never give a get with a tenai. He held to have a seuda in Adar I and Adar II. After "losing" the disputation, he moved to Israel, and wanted to build a mizbeach. Sefer Kaftor Vaferach attempted to explain how to build it then. (2) The Ri Hazakein, the nephew of Rabeinu Tam, and his son, (3) Rabeinu Elchanan Hakadosh.
