The Chassid begins to challenge the Chacham's perspective: Why don't you spend time learning about Ahavat Hashem and Yirat Hashem? Are they really so simple? Are they not as important? The questions of the Chassid and the responses of the Chacham are as surprising as they are frightening. We are also left with an unnerving question: Are our responses in the 21st century so different than those of the Chacham in the times of the Ramchal over 300 years ago?
