Description

In this shiur on the sugya of Zomer V'Tzarich L'Eitzim we will move forward in our attempt at defining the category of Melechet Siluk. We will establish that there are a number of Melachot which remove the Melacha that proceeded it, e.g. ripping that undoes the stitches of a cloth, erasing that removes the writing, untying a knot that destroys the "kesher", and cutting down branches that is antithetical to the planting of the tree. These Melachot are - by their very essence - Kilkul (destructive) and we will analyze the issue of transforming them into Tikun (constructive).
