Description

We will work with the premise that a Psul "mesuyam" (singular), derived from the parsha of Lulav, reflects the basic definition of a cheftza Shel lulav & this psul must be applied to the mitzvah derabanan. Rabanan cannot create a new entity of lulav; that would be like qualifying a lemon as an esrog! The rabanan can exercise a measure of leeway with regard to general requirements, and are Not bound by a Psul clali. We will analyze shitas Rashi based on this assumption.
