Packets from Rav Mottel Zilber, pages 21-22. Certain Tzaddikim throughout history have accessed the highest realm, that they act as testimony to something other worldly. The circle of the Baal Shem Tov was filled with people like this versus singular individuals in previous generations. They were able to testify to the Godly soul of a Jew. Everything these tzaddikim did, was done entirely for the sake of unity of God and on a spiritual plane. Due to their exalted nature, they were only able to see the best in each Jew. Most people live on the surface level, but tzaddikim live in the world of secrets. Every action seems mysterious. They think and live in the higher realms and this causes their reality to be Ahavas Yisrael.
