Description

4th shiur in 2nd semester of Jewish Center University series, "Judaism & the Origins of Christianity." We discuss the impact of the Bar Kokhba Revolt on Christians. Were Christians persecuted by Bar Kokhba? If so, how (and why) did this manifest? We examined, in this context, the assumed messianic nature of the Bar Kokhba Revolt, and explored implications for the specter of religious schism in our own American Orthodox community.
