Tos' to Shabbat 44a, as well as many other Rishonim, address the issue of the possibility of permitting Muktza through an explicit declaration (תנאי). The Ramban allows it even according to Rebby Yehuda. Other Rishonim permit Tenai only according to Rebby Shimon. Some allow for Tenai only in the case of a Basis L'Dava H'Assur. Tos' only allows for Tenai in the case of a Sukka that is about to fall. In this shiur we will analyze these approaches in the light of alternative definitions of Muktza.
