In our study of Masechet Makot, 6a:, we will analyze the controversy between Rebby and Rebby Yossi regarding the disqualified Eid and his impact upon the Kosher witnesses. When and how does the disqualified eid become part of the Kat (unit) of Eidim? Is seeing sufficient to gain a Shem Eid and become part of the Kat? Or is there a second requirement, namely, hagadas eidus bifnei Beis Din?
