There are two major issues that come up in the laws of Bishul on Shabbat and they are related in terms of the very definition of Bishul BiShabbat: Ma'ase Shabbos - the prohibition enjoining one to enjoy the results of an act of cooking on Shabbos. The second concept is the Gezeira DeRabbanan of She'hiya & Chazara which enjoins us from leaving food on an oven that is neither o Gerufa nor a Ketuma. In this shiur we will read the Rambam in the 3rd chapter of Hilchos Shabbos carefully and discover that the Rambam places the Gezeira DeRabbanan of She'hiya into the context of the great controversy between Beis Shammai & Beis Hillel regarding the permissibly of beginning a melacha on Erev Shabos that will be completed on Shabbos.
