Description
Does the law of Muktza apply to utensils? We would expect that Rebby Shimon accepts muktza in the case that one actively "pushed aside" something designating the object for non-Shabbos use, as for example the case of oil in a lit candle of grapes set up on the roof to dry. This is Haktza'a Beyadayim which even R' Shimon accepts. Shouldn't the same apply to a garment that was thrown into the rubbish bin before Shabbat? In this shiur we will explore the fundamental difference between foodstuffs, concerning which the Torah commands, "VeHichinu Es asher Yaviu", as opposed to utensils which do not require Hachana. We will be left howerver with one question. The sugya establishes that R' Shimon does accept the Issur Tiltul in at least one case.
