Pages 36-38. Based on a footnote from Rav Kook's Oros HaTorah, the Chalban discusses an aspect of Torah Lishmah. One aspect is to learn for the sake of enriching כנסת ישראל the people of Israel, Jews worldwide. Through this, a person enlivens not only others but himself as well. His influence spills into his own life too. This is only true when your learning is like one who "draws in order to give others to drink." This is the foundation of R' Nechunya ben Hakana's prayer for entering the Beis Medrish, learning for the sake of others. We also began to discuss the prayer upon leaving the Beis Medrish. It is focused on thanking and praising God for our lot. Looking back on your success and the good in your life.
