Description
The Rambam defines shofar shel mikdash as an enhanced kiyum of mitzvas shofar shel Rosh Hashana. The blowing of the chatzotzros as an accompaniment to the kol shofar generates the perfect mitzva of shofar. The Turei Even insists that we must hear the kol chatzotzros; this can only be understood if the trumpets enhance the mitzva of shofar; the chatzotzros upgrade the mitzva of shofar. Why then is the Gemara bothered by the principle of Trei Koli only with regard to the hearing of the Kol Shofar? Apparently the kiyum of shofar shel mikdash is the integration of the two kolos. That symphony is the essence of the mitzva. The chiddush of the sugya is that in addition to the symphony we must fulfill Yom Teruah & hear the pure kol shofar alone.
