In the sugya of HaNa'ah HaBa'ah Lo leAdam Ba'al Korcho, two leshonos are presented, and we must compareg the two leshonos of Abbaye & Rava with the help of Tos'. Abbaye's understanding of the Machloket between Rebby Yehuda & Rebby Shimon changes only as far as Rebby Yehuda is concerned. As Tos' points out, Abbay's new understanding of Rebby Yehuda introduces Efshar and Lo Efshar as the critical elements, and therefore Rebby Yehuda will permit even a Mitkavain if Lo Efshar. Rava rejects this because Mitkavain is an automatic and absolute Osser.
