Despite the rule of VeChay Bahem which overrides all Issurim for the sake of Pikuach Nefesh, nevertheless the sugya in Psachim 25a: establishes that Avodah Zara may not be used even to save a life. What happens to a person who violated Avodah Zara in order to save his own life? Would he be punished for the violation? And how does this compare to one who, under external duress, violated Avodah Zara? We will study an apparent contradiction in the Rambam on this issue.
