Description

In this shiur we will focus on the concept of "accidental", and break it down into the following sub-categories: explanatory (e.g. Hesber HaTaana), descriptive (HaNa'as Levisha in sha'atnez), conditional (Kabalas Mitzvos in Geirus), and clarifying. The last category will apply to the case of Amira in Kidushin, which, as Reb Chaim taught, is a Giluy milsa to clarify that the money was given for the purpose of kiddushin. Therefore the umdena of Hayu Oskim Be'oso Inyan can substitute for Amira. We will study in depth the Rav's insight, based on the Ramban, into the role of Milah in Geirus. The active agent that effectuates Kedushas Yisrael is Tevilla. The Milah is a requirement because an Arel cannot enter into Kedushas Yisrael.
