Rabbi Haber discusses how King David, and before him, Yaacov Avinu were the foundations of Mashiach. The first public example of Tshuva is Dovid HaMelech. But, before him, Yaacov Avinu became an Ish Shalem in Shechem, 50 years after he bought the birthright from Eisav. What does the sense of smell have to do with the “Light” that Mashiach will bring to the world? The special power of the scion of King David is the power of smell and the Ohr (Light) after the chet (sin).
