Description

The Rav demonstrates that the dialectic between love and awe, between man's yearning to reach HaShem and his experience of recoil when he is distanced by Hashem, is reflected in our tefillot in many ways. His discussion about the formula of Brachot and Kedusha is of particular significance. In the latter part of this shiur, we will begin to study the Rav's insights into the principle of imitatio Dei and its relationship to the love-fear dialectic. Man experiences both freedom and a sense of compulsion as he implements the mitzva of VeHalachta Bidrachav.
