Description

Rebby Yosi disqualifies a Pesach that was cooked after its roasting, and a matzah that was cooked following its baking, and R' Eliezer MiMetz (the Yerai'im) derives from Rebby Yosi a law in Hilchot Shabbat that if one cooks after baking or roasting, he violated Meleches Bishul. The Ra'avya rejects this opinion based on the sugya in Berachot that defines Rebby Yosi as a separate halacha in Matzah due to the requirement of Taam Matzah. Whereas the Shulchan Aruch accepts the Ra'avya, the Ramah rules like the Yera'im and ashkanazim may not dip their challah into a boiling hot soup even though the soup is in a Kli Sheini. What law applies to croutons? What about salting or melting butter on a hot potato? Can we heat up cooked chicken on a blech?
