Description

The religious experience is made up of the rational and the revelational dimensions. In this section, the Rav defines man's mission which cannot be complete merely by discovering the mathematical laws of physics; dry scientific knowledge cannot redeem man. Man must combine the intellectual achievement of scientific knowledge with the heart that yearns for the living God. Revelational consciousness is the awareness of the subjugation of man to God and His Will. The revelation of Shechinah stands beyond the authority of man's creative intellect, and allows man to join an eternal world that is entirely stable and constant.
