Description

Our sugya in Psachim addresses one aspect of Birchat, HaMitzvot, namely, should the bracha be with a "lamed" or with an "al"? We will discuss the cases of milah, gerus, and shechita, where the bracha is formulated with an "al" because of the absence of an obligation incumbent upon the mevarech. In lulav the "al" reflects the fact that the kiyum hamitzva has already been achieved.
