Description

The sugya in Psachim 5a is dedicated to finding the source for the prohibition against owning Chometz on Erev Pesach. In this shiur we will study the opinion of Rava who derives the issur chometz from the Lav of slaughtering the Korban Pesach when one has chometz in his possession. Next we will study the view of Rebby Akiva that it is impossible to interpret Tashbisu as referring to the first day of Pesach since burning the chometz would constitute a violation of Melechat Yom Tov.
