The mishna establishes that even one who does not understand the Megilla in Ashuris, nevertheless, he fulfills his obligation. Does Yevani have the same status as Ashuris? What about reading the Megilla in other languages? Does it matter if the reader does not understand French, but the listener does? Why does the reading in Ashuris have a special status? Why is it meaningful to perform a mechanical kriah without comprehension, after all, the kiyum of Megilla is "pirsum Ha'nes"? These and other questions will be addressed in this shiur.
