Description

In this shiur we will study the Modeh Ani which concludes with the phrase "Rabah Emunatecha", How great is Your Faith O God. What does the concept "faith" mean with regard to the Almighty? We will find in this phrase an introduction to the Birchot HaShachar. How do the first 3 blessings, "Asher Yatzar", "Elokei Neshama", "Asher Natan LaSechvi", form a single unit? What underlies these three blessings? Then we move on to the next set of 3 Brachot, the "negative" blessings, 'you have not made me'. Why are these formulated in the negative? This will lead us to a question about the custom that a woman does recite "She'asani" in the positive, a question we will address in Part II.
