Description

Esau tried to give Yaakov the evil eye, the officers of Pharoh tried to damage the position of Yosef with an evil eye, and centuries later Bilam would attempt to destroy the decedents of Yaakov encamped in the wilderness with an evil eye. The amora Rav teaches that 99% of men die from Ayin Ra'ah. Although the practical dimensions of ayin ra'ah and protection thereof are left to family traditions, in this shiur we will attempt to understand Ayin ra'ah from a moral perspective. How & why does it work, and how can we serve HaShem in a way that will defeat the dangerous impact of Ayin Ra'ah. Our goal is to imbue us with the midah of our ancestors, Ayin Tovah.
