Description
The consciousness of Halachik man embraces the entire community of the sages of the mesorah, and spans all of time. The Rav writes that the chain of tradition originated on the morning of the third day. This is confusing since the sun was created on the fourth day. In any event, in this part of the essay, the Rav presents two fundamentally different categories of time, and man will choose in which realm of time he will live. The Rambam in the Moreh will be studied in depth in order to reconcile the tenets of immortality and Divine Providence with the Aristotelian concept of the universal and the particular, a distinction which the Rambam has accepted.
